Content

• Every bullet starts with a specific action verb, not "Responsible for" or "Helped with".
• At least half the bullets describe an outcome or scale, not just a task.
• All metrics are accurate and defensible if asked in an interview.
• The summary is specific to the target role and 2–4 sentences.
• No clichés: "passionate", "results-driven", "team player", "detail-oriented".
• The resume has been tailored to this specific job description.

Facts and dates

• Start and end dates of consecutive roles do not overlap or leave unexplained gaps.
• All company names, institution names, and certifications are spelled correctly.
• All dates are in the same format throughout the resume.
• Metrics and percentages are internally consistent.
• Contact details are correct (email, phone number, LinkedIn URL).
• Every link in the resume has been clicked and works.

Formatting

• All bullets use consistent punctuation (either periods everywhere or none).
• All job titles use consistent capitalisation.
• Section headings are visually and textually consistent.
• Spacing between sections is consistent.
• No bullet is longer than two lines.
• The whole resume fits on one page (or the intended length).

Final checks

• Read the whole resume aloud once.
• Read the whole resume backwards once.
• Printed the resume and read the printed version.
• Asked one other person to read it.
• Exported to PDF and verified the PDF text extracts cleanly.
